What’s on your head, Girl? Tantalizing Turbans
October 7, 2010 § Leave a comment
Catwalks were crawling with turbans exuding eye-catching glamour. Making coiffing the perfect sculpture atop your hair the challenge of the season.
By embracing turbans, the fashion world has once again (let us not forget Prada 2007) given women a license to hide a dreaded sin, i.e. unkept hair. So ciao bad hair days! Bonjour covered heads du jour 😉
Let us take a glimpse at who has caught turban fever…
Salma Hayek in a pillbox-ish turban at Stella McCartney’s show during Paris Fashion Week.
Kourtney Kardashian in a studded headband turban running around Soho.

You can purchase a pre-constructed turban from retailers such as Forever 21, H&M and your local hair store, lol. For those of you with a take- charge attitude, creative streak and technical skill, you can grab a scarf or a cut of fabric and assemble your own design. I wear turbans often and my base design is pretty simple. First half the fabric diagonally into a triangle, then place the fabric on the nape of your head, pull the ends forward, twirl the ends and then pull them backwards, tuck the loose edges underneath the turban- nip & tuck as needed 😉
Turban treats from Jean Paul Gaultier and Jason Wu!
More head wrap chic than turban to me, but I loved the patterns too much to exclude them… You be the judge.
Do note, that if you’re too scared to try this look in the ‘real world’ there is a virtual option, http://turbanizer.com/ … Have fun!
